felt collage course

I hadn't realise what a long gap there has been since I sat down to post! Life has been very busy and then there was the flu and a trip to chilly SW France.

Now,back from a weekend teaching feltmakers in Lichfield, which was very enjoyable and ptoduced some excellent work, a little of which you can see here.Felt collage always surprises me, even after a longtime working with the technique, because each person has a different take on the method, even if, as this weekend, they all start off with the same three colours of Gaywool dyes for the silk and cotton dyeing.

The final gilding of the lily with the thermofax screens and natural dye pigments is, to me, the most exciting part and this time we were using new pigments from DTCrafts as well as Pure Tinctoria pigments-both gave good results.
